"retten.exe" restore ...

I was scimming through my pc looking for unusual files i found in my c:\ drive and stuff...

i'm not sure if it was me but i had contracted something on my computer which tried to dial me up to their dial up, as i wasn't connected to a modem i thought it nothing but the noise and the pop ups were just bloody annoying.. i ran spyware scans, hardware scans, everything i could think of. When i tried to run msconfig i, the thing on my computer was xing it out.... so with fast clicking i stopped all processes and i think now i have gotten rid of it, but for some reason it might have been me or this thing but it deleted "retten.exe" i know that's german for restore... and i need to find it back but it's not on my computer and i wondered if anyone could help me try and get restore.exe back so i could set my computer bac to factory settings ( i have some issues with this device at the moment) i have backed everything up and i have my application and support CD (it's a medion computer because medion owns!) anything you know would be greatfully appreciated.. :(

Scammers man. In some countries, they can charge anything they wan't per minute (some scammers have charged thousands of dollars to people with similar scams).

Just directly from some stupid site... since a lot of pop-ups appeared a load of spanish crap.. i havn't been charged anything becaue i never had my dial up cable put it so to be honest it sucks fo them... but i have gotten rid of the dial up tone now it's just annoying that i can't do a restore ...

You don't have a restore CD? Try talking to friends or family around you to see if they have the factory restore CD that came with the PC.

hahah my hair was shit today it felt like straw thanks to hairspray ;)

..but i have the application and support CD but for it to run it needs to comply with my computer by running this restore.exe program...

it's a bummer but if i can't fix it this way i'd have to get my dad to do it manually from dos... and it sucks :(
