Ok i could not think of anything at all for the bg so i just kinda threw it together so the bg kinda isnt to great but i can change it later so here it is a new metroid sig. Tell me what ya think.

The bg doesn't seem to match the character, try changing color (ctrl+U) or change it all. Otherwise, good job, I like it except for that bevel :P
This render when i got it sucked way bad it needed alot of spicing up to get it to look smooth like that, the original was kinda blurry and like had jagged pixels.
