Well its unfinished but what do you think? should i keep the scanlines? Is the text okay? Could the brushing be better?

to answer your questions short and sweetly ..nope...nope.. and yes . look at your render and try and get a close colour match to the colours in your render.. scanlines dont go with the style of render you have and the text just doesnt fit in neither does the brushing you have srry bud
No need to say sorry critisism is welcome because then i know how to change it.
The scanlines are too bold, maybe if you tone them down, but I don't think you have to fully remove them. Text needs major work, try a font like Futura BK, about 10 PX black and lower the opacity. That might make it look better. As for me I think the brushing is fine. Nice job mate.
