Pure brushing and smudging.
I know it's not super, but I think it's pretty good considering the time it took.

I'd put up the non-colored version, but I'm just plum lazy.
The coloring took all of two seconds. I thought colr might help, but black and white is really my thing.

Some orange would look cool. I like the kinda flowing , loose shapes ^_^

I like this one. I think it could've been better if you made it a bigger piece. like black background with a subtle shine in the middle (sort of like a gases. and the phoenix on top of the shine. just my thoughts on it. great job man.
i think it would look better with a black background. with white and red as the drawing colours ;)
with more time spent on it, it could be very awesome.
