Yeah i heard this, it's so it can be pronounced in any language as the same word, as wii is not a real word. Which is fucking pointless...
"It makes you feel more connected with the console" Because it has the same pronounciation as the word "we" haahah wtf!!?!.
Anyways, looks like a good console nonetheless. And the cinematic thing with the letters i and w is cool :P

I mean, it's rather confusing. Many will be confused when it is used in general speech. I can't think of any good examples, but people will think you are saying "we" or "wee" when you are saying "wii"
they should have had a naming contest or something, it would be better.
However, that little weird video thingy looked awesome.

Like I said in the Console thread. Nintendo has a way of fucking up even the most brilliant of ideas.
They say they want to attract a broader, more mature audience... but then everything they do is targetted to kids. They must have the most disconnected marketing department. I wonder if they even talk to eachother before making decisions like this.
If I go to buy one you can bet I'm asking for a "nintendo revolution" and not a "weeeeeeeee!". They'd fucking lock me up in the mental ward.
