Ok well it seems kinda... empty, this will change a little when I put the content and ads in but, I think that the top header looks too empty -- any suggestions on the top header image (or does anyone wanna make one for me :) ))

The blue bg is flat. Thats what the deal is. Just try making a bit more raised, add some depth.
Just add some highlights and shadows. It should be good. ;)

i agree with the borders, makes it look like a free web template downloades and just with stuff thowed inside. but the contents are good, just need to catch the eye of the visitor.
