not bad for your first, try blending the render so it gives it a better flow, i think their should be a tutorial or two on how to do that in the tutorial section, also think of more of a multi-colored backround instead of one bright red.

Why is part of the sky white and the rest red? When you use solid colors like that, it make the signature look flat. Try to get more depth by adding some brushing under the color. Play with the sliders and click on every button. Photoshop is amazing, just play around with it and you'll get better man. =)
