Tip number 1: Use a different program to do that. Photoshop was made to edit photos. Not to creat them from scratch. If you drew and shaded this in photoshop then it's kind of an un-intelligent thing to do. There are other programs that are specially made for that kind of stuff. Photoshop is made for photo editing.
Tip number 2: Maybe save it next time instead of a screenshot.
Tip number 3: I would keep working on this and try to add texturing to it. If you added texture to make it look more realistic and the lines of the knuckles and hand and all that stuff, it would look really prime.
uh, i dont actually know why i did a screenshot like that :\ sry. i''ll post a proper image in a sec
so what program do u suggest i use? i prefer to use PS:CS because i'm fairly used to its interface/tools
but if u can suggest something better/more suitable, i'll give it a go.
i was thinking of making it into a gloved hand (it was the original idea) but i may give texturing it a go. but i'll have to read up on skin tones and stuff
thx for the Tips :)
corel painter is perfect for this kind of thing... but there are MANY professional graphic artists that use photoshop to do this kind of thing. you can really add a level of realism or add another layer to your images with photoshop, while other packages just deal with digital painting. but yeah, work on this some more. try and make it look like actual skin or something.
Photoshop is used for EXACTLY this kind of thing! GEEZ I could give several links with professionals using PS like this. In fact here are a couple..http://photoshopcafe.com/ and http://www.wade.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorial1.htm
Also, your hand is coming along just fine. Good work!

Like others said, good work. The model and shapes are basic, and it's the first step to finishing. Work on the skin, and im sure it will be as good as any professionals!
