Simple background overlay
My first tutorial and this comes from things I've come to learn.
This tutorial is very simple.
1. File ->New ->Open a 500x500 pixel background.

2. Have your forecolor set black, and background color white. Push alt+backspace to turn your file's background color black.

This is where it gets fun.
3. Go to new layers and create a new layer.

4. Take a brush of your choice, and brush it on the new layer.
I decided to use a sakura brush. *Note- This works VERY well with glitter brushes*

5. Now make a new layer above layer 1. Take a different brush (One that can cover the whole thing easily) and change your foreground color to whatever you like and brush part of your new layer.

6. Once you have your desired color. Go to layer->merge down and selet the very top layer. Merge down til you're at layer 2 and stop. Selet layer1 and merge it with the background if you at happy with the outcome. If you aren't, erase and place a different brush.

7. Go back to the merged color layers and merge it with the background.

Tell me what you think of this. And if there is need for any improvments. I'll make a sig later with this I think :0~
Edit:

Eh.. It's an iffy looking background.
I didn't like how plain the background was so I made a new one, so I used the same technique to get my desired look <3~
I can make a tutorial for the bottom one if you request it :0~
