Guh, I'm an idiot. I posted a big long thing because THESE in my head read THIS, and I'm retarded. But I really like the top one. I dig the whole goth/grunge thing. I think it'd be really cool if you did something with her eyes, though.

It might look good if you put blood on the brown one... It would make it stand out
I hate gothic shit but this doesnt look bad. Pretty snazzy Good job.
i like the top one, and with that said, these are my suggestions for that piece:
the image of her is really blurry (not sure if thats you or the stock), and i think that it detracts for the piece.
lose the green above her eyes, but keep the "lip stick", even make it stand out more.
desaturate the stock more (like in your second piece) to contrast with the color more. same goes for the hair, make it more like the second.
theres a red bar on the left, get rid of it (not sure if its even soposed to be there :))
thats all :P im only giving "harsh" crits because i think that this can be a really excellent piece, and its almost there (i would almost cross your two pieces). i really like it, alot, and i want to see it perfect :)
the blur is the gaussion blur 3.0 set to multiply i think
1st one is better.
