ok I spent some more time with this one and I'm happier with the outcome.

Yeah you're right on the text. I actually bothered to go back to the rust tutorial to this one - all I did was add a bevel and emboss (down) though I should have set it to hard chisel on hindsight, and then added a black inner glow with a normal blending mode. Made it look more effective - also, instead of just putting noise into it - put a sandstone texture into the rust first and then add a low amount of noise.
