first coloured peice

okay, so first coloured piece
just did one of my drawings not great but, you gotta start somewhere eh?
acctually im not really starting :P i just got bored and tried it out

Looks nice. I think the gradients should have been brushed because they look too smooth and don't really match the rough pencil edges (especially on the grass, it doesn't look grassy except where it's already penciled in). Coloring and shading looks fine on the pants though, I'm assuming that's because the shading was already done in pencil. The drawing itself requires no critique, it's awesome (squirrel with the brush tail haha). I think you should keep trying more in color, there's tremendous potential.

thanks :D i acctually put the shading in after the colouring, its not part of the pic, ill fix the gradients at some point :P

Nice use of muted colors in certain areas... the brighter ones seem to kill it for me.. you don't want to use 100% hues like that yellow for hair, or that blue for the pants... try other tones in the colorations, it makes it that much better in the long run, but its just fine in this piece

One level of really dark shading, would be pretty lush . And i agree about the gradient bg, painted woul dbe better.

I really like it though, does it have any meaning or just kinda.. 0.o Jah? :p :p :p I've seen a stylke like this before, the faces that is, anyways... good work ^_^
