Layer Selection in CS2...Help Please

Hello all! I don't post here very much so I am sure no one really knows me :) I just recently upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0 from CS 8.0, and i cannot figure out how to select AROUND a layer in the layer section.

In CS, i was able to CTRL click and then get a selection around the layer i clicked. CS2 has a new feature where if i CTRL click, it will select/un-select multiple layers.

I used to be able to "CTRL CLICK" here

Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0 doesn't do this because it has the ability to select multiple layers. Can anyone please tell me how i can get the same results as "CTRL CLICK" did in CS 8.0?

Yeah i noticed that aswell, i can't remember what i done.. you might just have to click on a different part of the layer. Like the little box with the image in.. hmm.. sorry man! I know the problem though

Yeah, that's what you do. You right click on the preview image in the layer box.. and you can pick "select layer transparency"

Know what else i noticed? You can no longer Right click and Select All when you have the marquee tool selected. (doesn't really matter because CRTL A does the trick )
