...blend images well in CS2? I'm not good at that and I really should learn how.
have you looked in the tutorials bit?
I have, but haven't found anything.
Let me make my question a little clearer:
How can you cut out the render/stock smoother when there is an odd bg behind it?
Still need help..
zoom in close and use the pen tool. if you're inexperienced with the pen tool, use the polygonal lasso, and click a lot.
some tutorials:

[ different method, extraction ]
ya use poly. tool or pen tool and then go select > modify > cantract like 1 or 2 px and it should come out pretty good if u do it right
pen tool a path around the outline, then with the path selected go to
Layer > Vector Mask > Current Path
then you can change the background color to something random to see if you did a good cutout, and if not you can easily adjust the vector mask w/ the pen tool until it looks right.
edit, that would mask just what you're trying to cut out, so add a box with the pen tool around everything first, so you'll mask everything but the stock.
I usually make two layers of the same image, use reveal/hide layer mask, and paint/erase the person I'm trying to take out.
He means blend not cut out???
There are many ways, depends on the piece you are working on.
for signatures usually a few gaussian blurs/motion blurs can work on a few duoplicated layers of the render.
Theres tons of ways you can blend on photoshop. Looking for tutorials may help.
