there isnt enough of a distinction between the background and the main stock imo. but the background does look good though

Not a fan of it, just glowy stuff. You need to have composition lightning etc.
not everyone needs to like it, thats why we all have different opinions and tastes. TBH though, I like how this looks on my screen. BUT...I have Vista, and it blurs everything, apparently a good bit. Cuz I looked at this same sig on a different PC(2, actually) and this sig is waaaaaay oversharpened/contrasted. Anyone have any techniques/ideas on how to get around this issue?
Yup. Vista is very demanding on your video card, so if you haven't upgraded it, do so.
got a 7600 gs PCI-E, 512 mb ram on the card. 2 Gb on the PC, with athlon 64x2 4000+ processor. My pc is fine with it(not slow at all), its just...something...about Vista that seems to blur most everything on my monitor, especially Photoshop stuff.
