Problems after uninstalling Photoshop 4

Well, recently our desktop computer has been running somewhat slowly, so my brother decided that we should uninstall programs that we don't use and that take up needed space. So, my brother, with my consent, uninstalled a few games and Photoshop 4. You see, we originally had photoshop 4 and then we got Photoshop 7 from our school system quite some time ago(we don't own it ourselves). It turns out that when we uninstalled Photoshop 4, there were some shared files that got deleted too, and Photoshop 7 and I think some other Adobe programs aren't working.

So, now my mom is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally mad, and her main plan of thinking is to force my brother to pay for Photoshop CS, CS2, or CS3himself. Is there a way to get those shared files back? :confused:

We have a CD for Photoshop 4, and the box says "Upgrade on CD-ROM" then "Upgrade from Adobe Photoshop LE". I'm not sure if it would work in getting the files back, since I don't know if it can still install it without Photoshop LE being on the computer.

Help please? :(

try a system restore.

start > run > type 'msconfig' > general tab > launch system restore > select 'restore my computer to an earlier time' and click next > choose a date that comes before you uninstalled photoshop 4 but at recent as possible and click next.

from there it'll do everything automatically and if this doesn't work then you have the option of undoing the system restore.

My mom says she doesn't want to lose the substantial amount of work she has done for school. It is soooooo hard for her to put it on a USB Drive.... ugh. :cool: I beleve she is trying to punish my brother. :p

Thanks a lot though, maybe I can hijack the computer or something and try it! :rolleyes: If my mom wasn't such a meany, I'm 99% sure it would work. Thanks again. :D

system restore wouldn't delete her work (i.e. word files, psds). so unless her work was installing 394280 new applications in between now and then, i'd say try it out, and if something she needed does get lost, you can undo it by following the same procedure as above except you'd select 'undo my last restoration' instead of 'restore my computer to an earlier time.'

Really? Thats a relief. :o I just told my mom that, and though she lashed out and said some something about backing stuff up and shes really mad cause stuff isn't working, I think she is going to try system restoring. ;)

Yep, it worked! :D Time to ask my brother for $ now.... after all, I DID save him several hundred dollars.... ;)
