wow thaats catchy. love the render. the highlight on the left fits the BG very well. so v2 is better. good job. not too plain, not too busy, harmonic colors...hmm.. nothing to critizise.
only a hint: the render is very neutral. a soft red coloring would not do any harm here.
first version looks better but I would remove that "V" on the left side... also: the light is tooo bright, like a white hole=/ use some nice brush or effect that goes like around the render, something to finish the sig cuz I think it looks kinda unfinished... gj though^^
