Layers blending

Hello everyone, my first post here.

I have a kind of stupid question.
Is it possible to apply a blending mode to a layer, that will affect only e.g. the layer that is below it?

not to my knowledge, but I can't imagine why you'd need to do that. if there's something specific you're trying do, be sure to post about it.

set the blending mode, and then merge them.
