The first one looks wicked, all apart from the background that is. Use just a colour, or black or white, or imo that would look best.
The second one looks really good, nice mood. But i would move the text to the bottom, surely you want the render to be the focal point?
True dat. But to non GFXers I think teh second one has the most appeal.
