I the smudged style, but it just doesnt fit this sif for me.
Your current smudged mario is awesome, but with this render I deffinatly would have gone a different route.
The text looks great though, I'll give you major props for that.

imo, it needs more multicolouring. although granted for a render like that the choice of decent-looking colours is limited.
nice style looks really clean. awesome text too.
could use some sort of border though.
