I was just out shooting some sky (yes, it IS night in Sweden right now) and I got a few ok shots. It is very hard to take interesting photos when it comes to stars. :P
First one, a big fat starfield. Not too many magnitude stars there, but I got that big fatass one there. I don't know much about astronomy (except for nebulae), so I can't say which star it is. http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/1...26701loie1.jpg
This one turned out good. :) For you blind people, it is the moon. Not a full moon or anything cool like that. Just like 55% is visible. It's not often I get use of my 75-300mm lens, but here I needed it. This picture is a crop though, as I couldn't get as far as I wanted. http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8...28201lort4.jpg
For this last photo I apologize for the shitty quality. This is what happens when you shoot at ISO1600 and then remove the noise in the post processing. I had to get the shutter down to 10 seconds, or else the stars will "move" and form short lines, hence the high ISO. The photo itself is pretty cool though. A big fockuff cloud was passing by and created this scene. http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/5...teredloyn6.jpg
Ah well. Maybe not much but it was fun shooting. :)

Very nice photos. I wonder if the big one in your first photo might actually be a planet reflecting light from our sun. I'm not sure if any are visible this time of year.

Thanks. :) I don't think it is a planet. The planets we can see from Earth without astronomic equipment (is that what you call it) are Venus and Mars and both are shining with a red light I think. This one was clearly blue, I could see it with the naked eye. So I think it's probably one of the closer stars. Perhaps 5-8 lightyears away or something.

the large one could be venus =] Its usually the brightest body in the sky here, that and the north star.

That last one is awesome. Looks liek somethign out of a book. I don't know why but teh cloud is in such a picture-esque shape and rigth above the cloud you can see teh star it reall seems to work out nice. AGain liek said be4 though it'd be nicer with better quality.

They all look really good. But my fav is the third, looks like some setting in a sci-fi movie ;D
