Hmm i think the render and the bg blends to well with each other. i dont like that big foggy effect in front of the render. the bg is good but it maybe fits the render to much.

The 'fog' is the light source, it's also supposed to be Samus' "power ball" Lolz :p

If that's the power ball, I think it should be smaller and more concentrated. But this sure does bring back the days of Super Metroid to me.
