You're getting there on the text sir. I'd recommend duplicating the text layer, setting the text layers to Overlay or Lighten, and then erasing or whatever you need to do to make it fit the sig. In this case, you've got the colors right, it's just too big and obvious; you want the text to be unobtrusive yet stylish.
I'll let other people comment on things such as single focal points, sig size, and moving away from brushing.

Nice sigs :) They seem a bit big though...Maybe thats just me, anyway. Text = worst thing ever lol. But like Virtue said, overlay, Lighten, screen. All of those fun effects with different opacity and erasing make your text better :)
