Ok this is my 2nd attempt at a background and i was looking for ratings and ideas on how to improve it etc etc be as fair or as harsh as you like as anything that will help me improve will be much appreciated heres the bg
I always like people that say we can be as harsh or fair as you like, because it means i don't have to sugar coat anything lol.
Btw Next time when you are posting. To post the image click the mountain with the yellow sky button (the image button) and paste the link into the box that comes up. This will allow us to not have to click a link.
I'm just going to go through everything and critique 'em.
Border - A very important rule to remmeber when making borders is don't use bevel and emboss..Ever. It'll help you loads with borders if you just stay away form them.
BG- I have to be honest here, this looks a lot like grunge brushes. Which is fine, especailly when you are just learning, however i encourage you to try muliple techinques of BG making. Grunge brushes tend to look messy and quick so people don't use them a whole lot anymore, It's fine to use them once or twice, but making the whole BG out of em, isn't the best technique in the world.
*BG = background
Text - I can give ya two big hints to help you on your journey to learning text (it's a long one).
1. Always use default fonts! (however in somecases yolu can break this law, but when your still learning i would encourage you not too.) Default fonts go with ANY sig and 9 times out of ten it will look WAY better than any downloaded font you can get.
* defaults - arial, veranda, (i use eurose but a lot of people dont have it?)
2. Keep em small. If you keep your text small it will help you ALOT in the long run. SImply for the fact that they won't distract away from your sig.
side notes - this sig is very dark. It's pretty hard to see whats going on. Lighten it up a bit.
ALso cool shadow.
