need some help/advice >;)

so ive been working on this

and i know they lighting is awful,

and i over-blended on his face.

basically,

im asking for some tips for making my lighting better.

or any other advice.

I quite like it
at least you got the light source in the correct place
it just needs more detail elsewhere in the signature
and sharpening

no. No filter effects lol. That's teh first thing a lot of people jump to. Don't do it. Experiment with other things.

As far as lighting goes. It's pretty good, like rob said..You got it in the right spot. But a lot of people, including myself do it with the following:

1. Create a new layer and fill it black.
2. Set to Linear dodge (critical)
3. Take paint brush on around 100px and light color (whatever color you want light source) and brush.

It gives it kind of a glowing feeling to it. It's really not a whole lot more of a difference but if you don't really like your current lighting, that's another option.

To make it more detailed? Sharpen it, and I usually add more clipping masks too.

I changed the lighting's position,

sharpened it,

added border,

and text (just threw it on real fast, im not leaving it in that spot).

I think the second one looks alot better after you sharpened it. Text needs to be worked on more i would give you advice but im rubbish at text also :P.Maybe tone down the red thing on his arm slighty aswell only other thing good sig nice work
