the vector is too simple but not terrible for your second try, it's at least identifiable.
but try varying colors, since your hair isn't that solid, and the photo's good because it has a lot of shading and contrast, but with my experience shading in vectors can be difficult but give it try make the colors more dynamic and yeah just keep going at it

just so u know, It wasn't rly supposed to look like the startingpicture since i thought that was a bit too "shadowed" xD

the shapes are pretty neat but it lacks detail. the hair in particular could do with some different shades. i like it :]
