Hey! So yeah, guess who? Ah..I bet a lot of people won't remember me.
So no more photoshop for me. My PC won't run it, so I downloaded GIMP. Any good beginner tutorials around? I got no clue what I'm doing.
Anyone here use it/like it...?

GRRRR! why is everyone so pro-photoshop / anti-gimp?
I'm not, However ive used gimp, and Ive used photoshop. I have them both an yet i consitiently use photoshop.
I was curios as to why he made the switch from PS to gimp, i didn't relize by being curious I was anti gimp..
My bad.
Elitist pigs pretty much sums it up. I used gimp for a while. There's nothing wrong it or Inkscape, which I've fallen in love with.
And hopefully more than a few people remember you Dark. If not, I'm depressed because that means I'm now ancient.
Thanks for the links Unit. Seems not to like Vista though as every time I open a new file it stops working, even in XP compatibility mode and I haven't found any other solutions for the error yet.
For those wondering why I switched from CS2 to other programs, my PC has Vista loaded on half a gig of ram. I think that explains things.
While I can't help you out with GIMP, I could advise you on another fine, small program, which runs very smoothly with Vista as well as XP --- it's Paint.Net. It's freeware all along the way, and I start loving it more each day I check it out.
I've been trying out this one as I needed a free graphics software to use in school which my students (or their parents) would be able to afford. The basic version is just a mere 1.6 MB download, and in the attached support forum you will find a wealth of plugins, as well as a wealth of tutorials.

I dearly hope that nobody takes offense from me posting this - personally, I have no advantage whatsoever from recommending this. Just trying to be helpful. :)
I remember you. Gimp isn't too bad, just everything is longwinded, saying that i've never made anything i like in it XD
