2nd, looks like you changed the light source to a more white feel?

That's the only thing that looks different to me between the 2.

no.. just smudged on the CD4 under his face a bit differently on both is all.

After my last couple (or several)si attempts, I finally felt good about this one. tried a different approach this time. Instead of picking a render first, I picked a CD4 that I liked from the get go. Then I found a render that went well with the cd4. Think it worked.

the best thing about the sig is depth, flow and color ;)

You have a good flow, a good depth and a good blend with the bg but i think you have placed the render and the thing going along with him a bit to high and a bit to far to the left just a tad down and a tad to the right and i think it will be better. GJ though looks nice.
