I'm not looking so much to make abstract shapes, but real 3D scenes. Which is a better choice?

well i had bryce and c4d and heres my low-down. bryce does more stuff 4 u and a simpler tool for landscape and stuff, but not the greatest at really nice abstract renders, unless ur hella good at it. then theres c4d where its more complex and u have to learn stuff harder, but once u get ther hang of it ull be really good at renders, and u can do landscae with it too just not as easy aas bryce.
bottom line
c4d- for cool loking 3d renders and for the person who can handle the error or trial thing.
bryce- easier for landscape not so h- in abstract renders.
it matters on the person, ima go with bryce cuz im lazy lol.
Well the abstracts really aren't a concern of mine.
Why not get Terragen?
If your going to do 3d images(people, cars, etc) then you want to go with 3d Studio Max.
Cd4 for Abstract
Bryce is also good for Abstract and landscaping
I think your wanting to use 3d studio Max.
Never even heard of that one. I'll check it out.Quote:

I'd have to say terragen is best, but thats imo
Vue is another Landscape program that alot of people use but I've never tried it myself. I've seen some great work from it though.
my program of choice is 3ds max, it can do anything the others can
Terragen feels too much like cheating. The program holds your hand too much.
