i'd choose the 2nd just because I think it looks a lot cooler..

The 1st one looks to me like you've got the render and simply brushed over it. Hence, I prefer the second, although I think it'd look a little nicer if brushing was removed from the central soldier's face. Good job on both though man.

I'd go with the first one because it has nicer colors and blending than the first....both are nice though.
