well,i just got it from a friend,andi dont really know how to use =/lol,so can anyone give me some tutson how tomake some large vector pieces?,im at the stage in a designers life wereyou getsick and tired of making sigs...i need to elvovle,and eventuallybecome as good as reedy(i want to learn how to make awesome sceens)

good for you, im trying to help people get to the point your at.
I find illustrator to be a little unwieldy myself, but thats because im used to photoshop's pen tool and handling selections. Thats much easier for me. Although I also will be training myself to use illustrator. The biggest thing to remember is to use a layer for each shape (just keeps things organized). Use the pen tool to make your shapes and the color thing is pretty much the same as photoshop. One (sometimes annoying) difference between photoshop and illustrator is that you have a new color palette for every file. So lets say you select a color you want on one file, if you go to a different file, the color you had selected is gone and its the default colors in your palette.
I don't know where to send you to find some tutorials, but I will say that you should try to learn without the tutorials. Mess with the program and dont be intimidated by the new layout ;) Thats how all of the pros say they got to where they are, by messing with programs and seeing what everything does.

Just do what Jack said, just play around in the program. AI isn't all that hard to get the basics down. I sat down and did it in a night. Just play around with it....
