I run version 6 of photoshop and it's been seriously difficult tracking down some seriously decent brushes for sigs. Do any of you know a place I can download some brushes for 6?

Well dude, to tell you the truth, you are pretty close to out of luck. You can find some at DeviantART.com but they don't even have a large amount of them.
