This is my first ever attempt at doing any large abstract work, and you can tell... <_< I used all my own 3ds max renders, but i didn't do a great job on brushing, text or lighting. If anyone can show me any useful tuts, i would be grateful.

Not liking it at all mate, sorry, just too dark and monotone for my liking, and the text doesn't go with it as it's all bright compared to the rest =/
I think its really nice for a first attempt, keep at it man, it only gets easier. It is a lil' dark and mono but its not horrendous, materials are ok....
