I prefer #2
The border and text on the first are just awful. So second almost by default, even though it is rpetty good.
I prefer #2 over the first one. The border on the first looks forced and like it shouldn't be there ... maybe it would work more if it were ingrained with the rest of the image?
I was growing tired of plain old 1 pixel stroke borders, so I tried something different.
