Just messin' around and got this result.

Hmmm, the background could do with a little more going on and maybe some more contrast. The text looks alright, I like the sharpness of it but I feel it misses something that I can't put my finger on. Those scanlines are a big no-no and I definatley think you should remove them. And did you even attempt to blend the render?

Overall I think it needs work but it definatley does have potential, sorry to sound like an asshole!
