[font=Verdana] This is the first time have every really used brusehes and fonts ect. seen as though i have only had Photoshop (7) for 5 days now. so if you give feedback, please dont be to harsh ;).

One thing i strongly suggest is that you do not start to use downloaded brushes all the time, as you will gain a dependance on the brushes. Start using only PS defaults, and your own brushes, as it helps you gain independence and more skill, and also when you finish the work, you have more pride as it's 100% your work.
As for the piece, it looks pretty basic. All i can see is downloaded brushes, and some text. It's very monotone (needs more colour), needs more depth, i'm not so fond on the text as it doesn't fit in with the piece, it needs more flow, and just overall is missing many of the essential qualities of a good piece.
Ahh well, its my first real peice, i have mainly been following tutorials the last few days, and am getting used to making things. but i do make quite a good UserBar though lol :P

One more thing...it's a bit dar. I mean I understand if u only wanted those parts to have brushes...but maybe you can make them a bit brighter and have maybe an outside lightsource so the brushes fade from bright (outer) to darker (inside). Just a little suggestion added to what Sobek said. This is all my lil onion (opinion) tho...
erm, i sort of had another stab at playing with brushes, i am not sure how to make brushes myself, so i kinda used some downloaded ones, but i have my end result:

So...i think its ok, but lets here your opinions, as it will only help me to get better.
Good a new one, maybe I can save you from going down the wrong path here. Stick around and post all of your stuff. We'll worry about the specifics and the content later on. I've been doing this digital art gig for awhile, believe me, you'll improve much much quicker if you stay away from making signatures, and if you stay away from using downloaded brushes and using pictures like game renders, images from tv shows and movies etc. Stay away from all of that, so that you are making 100% everything on your canvas. Work big as well, do not do signatures. I've been doing graphics for a bit over 4 years and I've made probably 4-5 signatures total.
The reason you should work big and completely from scratch is because when you do that, you make it much harder on yourself. When you are challenged like that you come upon a lot of problems, but in the process, you learn to solve those problems. You'll race around the learning curve much quicker that way.
So, to sum up, work big (bigger than 600x600 every time) and make 100% of the stuff on the canvas. No matter how crappy it turns out at the start, do that. Stick around and we'll help you improve on the content and the specifics of your piece so you develop a better understanding of aesthetics, what colors are right, what font to use etc.
ok cool. but does anyone know where i can find a tut on how to make brushes ect?
Try not to use tuts once you get the general jist on how to make brushes. Develop your own method once you get a hang of things.
Still dosent answer my question.....are their any tuts on HOW TO MAKE THEM?
