Ok I am trying to figure out how this person made this looks so real.

I mean it looks like real metal with light and a background reflecting off of it. Anyone have a tutorial or anythhing for something like this? I have tried doing this several times in PS and all I can ever come up with is a good brushed looking steel, nothing that looks this reflective if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance.

Something reflective looks only as good as what it's reflecting. Make a shape, color it gray and start making it look like its reflecting stuff. Then, just dodge/burn it to make your lightsource. If you want to want to do the little shine, then just do a bit of white brushing.
Personally I dont think that looks very realistic, but if that's what you want then as I said, just focus on making it look like it's actually reflecting something. That's the key here ;)
It'd probably be easier to draw it up in illustrator then import the speens... er, splines... into a 3d modelling program, if you have access to one. Then a simple HDRI with an invisible environment would make it look at least as good as that, probably better.
I know of a tutorial for that kind of effect but I don't know if linking to other gfx sites is against the TOS or not. If someone in charge tells me it's cool I'll post the link.

Thx Jack. Here they say you can use it for a metal text effect, but I can't see any reason why you couldn't use it for something more than just text:
