looking at it now, i think i should add more brushing on the left side.

the sides are to dark to me

i also think the lighting could be better

I like the effects, though if you could fix the lighting on the render, it seems the light source isn't the light down at the bottom but somewhere else.

yeh loose the text... but the lighting isnt that bad... its from bellow him somewhere if you look at his face. but its pretty gd.

thanks. i tried to fix the lighting on his face but i couldn't come up with anything. i added very little brushing on version two(i'll post it later i don't have the url pasted on notepad right now). and to be honest. i'm lovin the text right where it is.

You should add more colors/color-depth than just black, white and orange/brown. You should also color the background more than just seperately brushing with a color that is relative to the render.
