I used to work with PS 7, and in the "layer" drop-down menu there used to be a "group with previous" option, which was quite handy, especially if I was making a sig and wants the text to have the background image itself instead of sum color.
Now I got PS CS version 8, and tht option is not there anymore. So I ws wondering if anyone got any ideas on how to bring tht effect in PS CS? of the text having any img u want instead of color??

It makes the layer so its effects only show up on the area covered by the previous layer, if that makes sense. If it doesn't, the best way to find out is by experimenting. Just go to layer > create clipping mask.
