tetris!

I was playing Tetris earlier and got the idea..why not make my own version of Tetris...well...heres the start of my project as of now...all the blocks and their shapes after being turned..don't mind the single purple block..thats just my root block incase I mess up and need to make another one..comments and ideas welcome for my animation..I already have something in mind..just want some more ideas...and I will give credit to those who give me ideas :D thanks!

dammit... the intensity of the red just imaged itself onto my retina and now everything looks pink!

Nice idea but why dont you try a different object? no reason why you have to limit yourself to a simple colour set. i mean you could choose the theme as all the famous pixel art characters from games long gone... like donkykong, Mario, Space Invaders, Duke Nukem, etc.

just a thought.

yeah..I was thinkin some other game..but the background would be the whole them of it all..then comes the borders and all that.. :huh:

whoa dude thats a freakin tight project. should be pretty easy. all frame by frame. maybe have the blocks go down faster tho, like after you rotate them you make them fall faster once they get in place. idk. looks great tho!

true.... hmm dont know if your old enough to rememebr, but there used to be this centipede game where they chaced you around a maze.... maybe instead of blocks you could use different coloured bugs/worms/centipedes. That way you can have em in different shapes... if you used centipedes you could haev ones bent left and right, with a circle as each segment... in theory you could simplify the body to justa circle and have a simple head and tail and just color em differently.

Thats a great idea..it would just take up a ton of my time..and would get boring making bugs..over and over again..I'll start out with the blocks and maybe make new games later on..thanks for the ideas though! anyone have any animation ideas?

so are you going to make this an animation? or are you going to make this a game using flash or actionscript?
