Right then, both of these are just practices of various techniques that I've picked up and hadn't used yet. Any c&c is appreciated, getting better is what it's all about. :)
Oh, and I'm aware my typography is poor-I just never seem to place it right, or use a fitting font.
In the seond one you have blending also perfect as well as lighting, just way too many effects that takes away attention from the focal point, and for text just use a default font and a color from the render/bg and lower opacity a bit, overall I do like the second one more just cause the b&w one seems to flat and busy. Good work though, keep it going; soon you will have a style of your own and will perfect it.

in the second when you have this many effects try make a new layer soft light, take a black brush out and brush the sites so that the colors tone down the further you go to the sides. and also when colors match this good dont blend that much :D
