Bg is not very appealing, not that many effects going on and monotone; render is horrible quality and try to put the render more towards the middle its more appealing for the viewer. As said earlier too, way to contrasted.
As for the text I think it fits very nicely, instead of using like soft light use a color from the render; and as for blending try to do distort > displace and use an old psd file, great way of blending. Possibly add a black border and use a purple/orange graident map to get it some color.
