Here is something I put together after doing some render cuts.

The BG on this one is also very blurred however the effects aside form it are pretty nice. The text again is nice, but the drop shadow is bad.
I think it might help you if you tried one of the sig tuts. They'll help you out on the BG's for sure.

i'm liking the overall effect..BG does look a lil blurry try to reduce that..nice piece though
