Layout for my buddy's music site

I'm not sure where to go from here. I know it's too plain but I don't want to go overboard and make it look unprofessional. Any ideas?

If it's metal music, try going for an either grunge or metallic look :P

Also, looks good according to the influences - I'm already interested :P

I take it it's more of a PureVolume kind of site? Where bands can create profiles, upload songs, etc?

It's too flat and monotone. I wouldn't say it looks professional because there's no hierarchy to the text. look at similar sites to purevolume for elements that make them appealing to the eye.

I started all over from scratch. Thoughts?

Thats pratty sick. the paper idea is defiently the grungy rocknroll look that you usually see with band websites.

Just work on making the header a bit more full.

You have a few typos. Forum is wrong and 'forget your password' should be 'forgot your password'.

I know. Just a rough sketch. I kinda rushed all that in so I could show my buddy before he had to go.
