How would I go about to get the effect on the first bill, the $7 bill. As you can see the man's face is purple and his hair is still black so using the colorize feature under Hue/Saturation wouldn't do the trick.
I think here is layer mode is used. lighten maybe.
I'll fool around with that and see what I get. I was wondering if the designer duplicated the layer, and had it in two different colours then changed the blending modes so it had that affect.
hue/saturation would work i think, if the hair is black it has 0 light, so the hue/saturation wouldnt affect it anyway
Yeah but the picture I'm working with the person is wearing a gold crown. Also how would I get the rivets going through the person's face like this pic:

oh,t hen i would just use the layer mask to erase aroudn the crown.
