LOl photoshop 7 has smudging. I used to use it all the time! you just don't have scattering. Finger painting substitutes pretty well.
COloring is okay, but the BG is wayy to busy and honestly it's like an ADD's patients hell. lol this is really busy. Blur the BG a bit more to try and minimize the bussiness.
Not bad though i'm glad to see your getting back to it.
you basically copied the render, sized it up, and then stuck the render in front of it.. along with some c4d... I'd like to see more lighting and creativity in this sig..
It's simple, yeah, but it still looks sexy imo :D
Nice job for not having done a sig in a while, though I have a hard time seeing the render itself in this sig, addsome gradient maps/curves/etc, you know, and make the render pop.
