no way u did all that with just c4d and even if u did and were that good theres no way its ya first one......but if the effects were done using c4d gr8 use of textures and even if not good rendering.

why couldnt this be his first ? i dont see a3. ? abstract c4d isnt so hard to make in cenima 4d, its the actions you do with it that makes it look awesome, beside he did not say it was his first c4d work ever just his first abstract ?

Ooops forgot to comment, i like this a lot its a great render, i would properly have combinede c4d and some photoshop on this
but the overall look of this is nice. I would like some more visible bg, i can see some texture but its a bit to dark lighten it up a bit.

this is bomb. Great job on this. I'd love to se the texture you used on this.

The only thing i would have done to improve this is i woul have used a seperate lighting system. Right now you are using the on camera light, you should turnt hat off and set up lights around the c4d. Thatd give it some bomb flar. Like glows coming out fromt he inside of it and stuff...ohh man.
