I'm new to Photoshop but not new to graphic design...

Ah..an Alien Sig! I'm a huge fan of them. I had one as a pet once. It didn't work out so well..
It's a bit weird, I did one a long time ago very similar with the same render, same colours and the same text, but different font. Fill up the empty spot on the right and it's not bad.
i like the van helsing one the best, the only things i see wrong with it, is its slightly over sharpened imo, Plus, im not fond of the green bit around his hat.. the text is good, though maybe a bit of a subtle colour? so that it doesnt distract from the focal.
as for the second, the empty space bugs me a little >.< However, i like the text a little better, just try to keep the text simple and short, imo no more than 5 words.
they are both better than what i was like when i started. Keep up the good work <3
