Hmm..coming from a pro..not!
Your colours are weird and mis matched. You need a background other than what you have, the thing you have going on to the right looks out of place. It can be done, but the way it's done here just doesn't look right.
Now text, I can maybe a bit more helpful. Papa and me have some basic text tutorials posted here. I'll just link you to them. Hopefully you find them to be helpful.

yea now that i look at it the colors look very weird with the render. I will try a black and white version and i think that would look better. thanks for the link too. very helpfull
