I haven't been making sigs for that long... this is actually the first one i feel kind of proud of, but feel free to tear me down for it... as long as you're doing it with good intentions.

This is actually not half bad! Simplistic and yet it looks nice, its easy on the eyes, has good compo, depth, and the beginnings of really interesting effects. Text shouldn't be shoved in a corner like that, put it close to the render and a little smaller, with default fonts - my favorite is century gothic.
You need a light source, try putting a little visible light coming from behind the render with a 100px soft brush or so.
You've still got a ways to go, but you've definitely got the basics down, follow some tuts and you'll get everything in no time.
Miril is right, it's pretty good. All my suggestions have pretty much been covered, except for one. If you're going to make a pop-out, make sure you leave room enough so parts of the body dont get cut off (like his hand did.)
Hehe, I didn't know it was called a pop-out, I figured it had a name but I didn't know it would be a pop-out.... sounds like a different name for an outie.... Thanks for the suggestions by the way.
No problem, I kinda specialize in them so any other questions just drop me a PM or whatever.
